There are quite a few dead links out there. ![]() If linking me to something please be sure it works. I tried the trial version of GLDirect 3 and had some success with a few other games, but I do not have its registration codes- 11 days to go. So I'm hoping someone here can link me to a download for GLDirect 4 and it's serial registration codes. It didn't get anything running but it DID get "Rabbit" running just enough to show SwiftShader might work- if it would use DirectX 8 or 9. So I downloaded GLDirect 5 from here, installed, got it running, but overall it was a failure. But if it could be made to use DirectX 8 or 9 then SwiftShader could get it running. It began with "The Night of the Rabbit." It uses OpenGL so it wasn't going to work on that antique. This can slow things down but without it quite a few games and the SCUMMVM application would not work. You copy these three files into the game folder and it intercepts the game's rendering calls, handling them itself. SwiftShader 2.1 is actually three files: D3D8.DLL, D3D9.DLL, and SwiftShader.INI. Unfortunately it does not allow the application to use SwiftShader. It installed, but will NOT work unless SwiftShader 2.1 files are in the program folder. I downloaded and tried GLDirect 5 from this site. ![]() Things like SwiftShader, 3D-Analyze, the browsers and software at MSFN, and Puppy Linux (it is a Dual Boot laptop) have worked wonders, but now I'm wondering if anyone can help me with GLDirect by SciTech. Windows XP Home Edition, 256MB RAM, Pentium 3 800 MHz processor, 16/24-Bit color, 1024h x 768v resolution, DXDIAG claims DirectX 7-9 installed and working but maybe those only partially work. ![]() I have an old 2001 Sony VAIO laptop I like tinkering around with to see how far old hardware can go. ![]()
